hi there! i’m serena ahmad. here’s a little bit about me.

Serena Ahmad is an aspiring physician and writer in Chicago, Illinois. On weekdays, you can always find her with a Raspberry Peach Celsius in hand, typing away at her latest research paper.

On weekends, she performs in competitive public speaking disciplines across the nation. Extemporaneous, Informative, and Persuasive Speaking remain her favorites. These twelve-hour competition days prompt her to make frequent exceptions for her caffeine intake, and double the Celsius.

Currently a senior Neuroscience major and Argumentation and Writing minor at the University of Illinois Chicago, she has presented her behavioral neuroscience research at the 2024 Chicago for Society Neuroscience Conference at Loyola University and the 2024 University of Illinois Chicago Honors College Spring Symposium.

Led by her passion for reducing clinical disparities in reproductive healthcare, Serena advocates for stronger BIPOC reproductive care and infertility treatment in her latest research article pending for publication in the second issue of the UIC Journal for Health Equity. Although her future medical career will inevitably spark new beginnings, she is determined to keep humility and compassion at the core of her practice, writing, and advocacy.
